Smoke Free Premises
Smoking has been banned in public places since 1st July 2007 in UK, you must ensure that nobody smokes inside your licensed premises.
Smoking is not allowed in licensed premises and strict rules apply in determining the compliance of partially enclosed areas commonly associated with outside smoking areas.
There are a number of offences that can be committed, ranging from individuals being prosecuted for actually smoking in an enclosed place through to offences committed by any Manager or person in control of premises who allows smoking to take place in an enclosed place. A responsible person who allows smoking in a licenced premises can be fined up to £2500.
Licensed premises are required by law to post no smoking signs at appropriate locations.
