Licensing Policy
Licensing authorities have the duty to publish a licensing policy every five years, taking the opinions of the responsible authorities such as the police and fire brigade in their region. These policies, which show how the licensing authority supports the licensing objectives, are implemented with corrections and changes when necessary and are renewed at the end of the 5-year period. The licensing policy can be obtained from the licensing authority or from the council’s website.
The Secretary of State publishes and regularly revises a licensing guide to assist licensing authorities in the performance of their mandates, to promote best practices, and to ensure consistency across different licensing jurisdictions.
